Blaise Compaoré (born on February 3, 1951) has been 
the President of Burkina Faso since 1987.He is the founder of the ruling political party, the Congress for Democracy and Progress. He was elected President in 1991, he was re-elected in 1998 and 2005. Dialogue and continuous quest for peace are personal qualities of President Blaise Compaoré.In 1993, President Compaoré headed the Burkina-Faso delegation, which participated in the first Tokyo International
Conference on African Development. He is an Honorary Member of The International Raoul Wallenberg Foundation. At the national level, he was able to avoid the perpetuation of a social rip through a national reconciliation process, which has gained ground.
